Army of Women

Last night at the highlights from the Bible reading, I do love it when something comes together.  The scripture Psalms 68:11 was part of the Bible reading, and I think every sister can quote that one.  And I had just read in the 1997 YB about Saipan since my childhood friend Becky is there now where the need is great along with her husband Mark.  And there was a portion of that YB that spoke of one of the Mariana Islands as the culture meant that the sisters who took "Marry only in the Lord" seriously were practically doomed to singleness.  So they served Jehovah and did without a husband in a culture that values children almost as much as the Israelites did.  Anyhow, the brothers there had appreciation for the sisters in a way that doesn't happen where the genders are a little more balanced.  Somehow, I lived this long without wondering what that scripture meant to the brothers.  I found that kind of nice.
